Yesterday, FMOS was honoured to welcome YB Liew Chin Tong, Deputy Minister of Finance, for a visit and discussion on the growing challenges posed by financial scams, as well as the importance of accessible dispute resolution for financial consumers and investors in Malaysia.
Led by FMOS Chief Executive Officer Ms Marina Baharuddin, the engagement provided an opportunity to share FMOS’s jurisdiction, dispute resolution processes, and insights from cases we have handled, including the high volume of scam-related disputes. The discussion also underscored the importance of continued collaboration among regulators, industry players and relevant stakeholders in strengthening consumer protection and scam prevention efforts.
