FMOS successfully convened its 20th Annual General Meeting(AGM) – continuing the legacy from OFS, on Wednesday, 21 May 2025 at Menara AICB, Kuala Lumpur.

On 20 May 2025, the Central Region chapter of the National Association of Malaysian Life Insurance and Family Takaful Advisors (NAMLIFA) invited FMOS to speak at a Tea Talk session in Kuala Lumpur, attended by over 60 insurance professionals.

On 23 April 2025, FMOS hosted a knowledge-sharing session featuring Tuan ASP Janarthanan Nair A/L Govindan from the Commercial Crime Investigation Department, Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Bukit Aman, for all its personnel.

On 11 January 2023, Dato’ Mah Weng Kwai, as the Chairman of SIDREC, and myself, as Chairman of Ombudsman For Financial Services (“OFS”) received a letter jointly issued by Bank Negara Malaysia and Securities Commission of Malaysia, requesting us to set up a committee to merge the operations of OFS and SIDREC.

FMOS plays a pivotal role in our financial ecosystem. Disputes between businesses and consumers are commonplace. But few industries can lay claim to the same extent of power imbalance that exists between a financial institution and individual or small business customers. Financial matters are complex, and most individuals will not have the sophistication or resources at their disposal to guard against unfair dealings.
