At the Sasana Symposium 2025 held on 17 June, Ms. Sujatha Sekhar Naik, Non-Executive Independent Director of the Financial Markets Ombudsman Service (FMOS), delivered an insightful presentation during the Fireside Chat session on “Know Your Rights as a Financial Consumer.”
Representing FMOS, Ms. Sujatha highlighted the organisation’s pivotal role as Malaysia’s newly consolidated, independent alternative dispute resolution body. She explained how FMOS acts as a free and impartial redress avenue for financial consumers and investors who are dissatisfied with the final outcome of their complaint to a financial service provider.
Her talk covered FMOS’ governance and expertise in handling financial market disputes, and the user-friendly dispute resolution process, which is free of charge and aimed at ensuring fair outcomes and emphasised consumer rights and responsibilities.
The session, moderated by Lau Chin Ching, Director of the Consumer and Market Conduct Department, also featured En. Jay Khairil Jeremy Abdullah, CEO of Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN).
